I'm applying to an early match and have completed my rank list.

I'd like to write the program director of my top choice to let him know that I've ranked his program number one.

How long should the letter be? Is there a specific format I should use, other than business heading?

I was thinking-

Dear Dr. Smith,

I've submitted my rank list and have chosen your program as my number one choice.

Based on XYZ I think I would thrive at your program.

Best regards,


Too short? I figure why re-hash my entire rotation and interview experience.
