Hi everyone,

Does it matter if the letter of rec is from an adjunct (non-tenure track) professor or from a tenured professor? Do their credentials give weight into the recommendation portion of applications? If they are a "newer" professor vs 20+ years of teaching?

Thanks!

I was always told to pick the one who will write you the better letter - I don't think they care as much about their credentials as much as how well it speaks about you

Whoever will write the most favorably of you. At the end of the day, that's what counts. The President of the Us can write you a letter, but if it's bland and generic, it won't do you any favors.
