I was offered a TA position with a professor for Physiology that I haven't taken the class with but I got an A in the class when a different professor was teaching it.

I'm curious if I could use it as a science rec-letter? I'm also studying for MCAT this semester so I'm debating whether to take this on or not.. If I can't, my time would be better spent studying but it could be useful to review the MCAT.

Alternatively I could take an anatomy course and get a rec letter from that guy. I'm just not sure what is too much to handle with MCAT 5 months away.

Do you not have a pre-medical committee that writes the letters? Talk to your pre-med adviser. If you choose to not use the committee, then you will have to explain why on your applications repeatedly.

1. Anatomy will help you on the mcat, or at least my anatomy course did.

2. It won't count as a science professor letter at most schools because he did not teach you in a science class for a grade even though he is a science professor. Some schools may accept it, and obviously it would be a good letter for schools that let you upload letters of your choice.
