So I finally got up the courage to ask the founder of the small company I work for (an unbelievable man with serious connections to a school I am applying to) for a letter of recommendation and he said yes! I am late in the game and am still filling out secondaries but am complete at a few schools including the one he is connected to. My question is, how do I go about sending in this letter/updating schools? I e-mailed the schools I am complete at to see what is their process for adding additional letters, but how do you guys think I should proceed? Should I add the letter now into AMCAS and have the schools I am not complete at yet wait until this letter, or should I finish off my apps asap and update them later when the letter is ready? ANy advice would be greatly appreciated.

I guess it depends on how many schools you applied to. You said you emailed the schools you were complete at to see what their additional letter process is, what did they say? I would complete your applications ASAP and then worry about the letter when its finished in a couple weeks. If all of your schools already have your other letters, it might be easier to just have him snail mail his letter.

I was in a similar situation (about adding a letter late). I added the letter to AMCAS, some schools like MCoW said they will not wait for optional letters, others might if you email them. Either way get it uploaded ASAP. And don't stop doing your apps to wait for a letter. Keep on truckin'
