Letter of rec submission dates keep changing on portals

So I was checking my portals when I noticed that a lot of the letters say that they were received on 8/19. I know for a fact that the portal used to say that the school received it in mid-to-late July. Why did this date change?

It could be that Schools will keep pushing dates forward for weaker candidates until the pass the letter submission deadline and therefore reject them without having to bother reading the application. Saves us time and effort. Yes that was a joke

While that they electronically received the letter earlier, it likely is that it was checked by admission office staff as proper (letterhead, signature) and noted to fill a requirement. Now the letter is formally part of the file and ready for evaluation.

hmm, makes sense. So I shouldn't worry about some schools not receiving my letters? Everything looks fine on AMCAS, in terms of where each letter is being sent.
