Hi, guys! So I will be applying to OT school at the end of this summer (!!!!) and it's getting near the point where I will begin asking people for letters or recommendation. First question: How far in advance do you think we should ask for these letters? Also, I can't decide which professor to ask. Does it hold more weight to ask a professor who's good at what they do in a harder class that you might not really talk to (like an advanced anatomy professor) or to ask a professor of an unrequired class for OT but you participate more (like infant development). Just thought I'd get some opinions, thanks in advance!

Ask whatever professor can write the best recommendation for you... doesnt matter what subject they teach. And I would ask as soon as you start completing your application. Give them at least six weeks.... people are busy. BUT my advice is to never give them the correct deadline. So if you gotta submit your application Nov 1st then tell them its due October 15th, helps avoid your app being late.

Yea I second what cb31 recommends. Ask the professor that would be excited to write you one (but I would also make sure it's a class you've done very well in). And absolutely give them an earlier date than the application; you don't want to be having a panic attack bc someone hasn't submitted their letter yet....

Thanks, guys!!! Really appreciate the advice!
