It seems like most MPH/MHA schools require about 3 recommendations. Most MPH programs also seem to use SOPHAS while MHA programs don't. How do you go about asking for recommendations for non-SOPHAS school?

Are the questions similar enough so that the recommender can copy/paste the answers or would they have to write multiple essays for each non-SOPHAS school?

1) How did you guys approach the problem of applying to multiple schools that do not accept SOPHAS?
2) Also, when applying for MPH/MBA dual degree programs, it is stated for most schools that we must complete the application requirements for both schools. Does this mean that we need separate letters of recommendation for each school? In other words, are the dual degree programs typically one application, or two separate applications?

Yes, recommendations are generally similar enough, a prof can write one rec and use that multiple times. However, some schools use university-specific forms with checkboxes and short answers instead of a traditional letter recommendation. Look out for those at each school you apply to.

1.) Look at each school you're interested in, and write a single page for your recommender with a checklist of how and what to do on the recommendation for each school (with any supplemental recommender's forms).

2.) Generally, if the university doesn't have a unified application for every school (as would be case of any SOPHAS SPH), you need to fill out the forms twice for both schools at the university. Again, be organized for your recommenders when they need to fill out the forms.
