So I've been looking at the schools I'm applying to and how many letters they request and I found that nearly all of them want minimum 2 from sci profs and 1 dentist. I have 5 letters at the moment: 3 sci, 1 nonsci, and 1 dentist. I know for sure I want to send 1 dentist and 2 sci letters and unsure about sending the nonsci and other sci letter. I don't know how schools feel about sending too many letters and need advice about whether or not sending these 2 letters (nonsci and other sci) will hurt me. I don't need to send them but I feel that there's a chance they could help me but only if they won't be mad reading so much about me. What do you think I should send and how many without it backfiring on me? BTW I am using interfolio in case I need to send them all.

Adcoms are all different but unless they say on their website or by other correspondence that they specifically want exactly 3 and no more then I don't see how it will hurt. Remember, the letters are only read after the first massive DAT/GPA cut, which for some schools it's well over 50%. After that they really want to be able to get to know you the best they can. If you're worried about it, drop the non-sci and have 4.
