Hello...
I was hoping for some help regarding the LORs... I have two DPMs that are willing to write me one and the lab director where I work said she will write one as well(shes a MD) .. I know that these are good but that I will also need one from an academic standpoint.. I'm pretty set on asking my ochem prof for one but I was wondering if I should or if I should have my pre-med adviser write one... what do you recommend?

Also, how should I have them organized? Should they just write them and send them straight to the aacpm? Should they send them straight to the schools? Or should they send them to my pre-med adviser and then she will organize them and send them out? Thanks for your help.

if i were you, i would give them all white letter envelopes so after they finish the letter, they can seal the envelope and sign/stamp their names on the back, so that its known i didn't see the letter. then i would go to each of them individually and pick up the LORs. when all are completed, i would send them all out in a big brown envelope, so that its organized when it gets to aacpm

Most of the Pod schools require letters from "science faculty." Does this mean that I have to have a letter from a professor with whom I've taken a class with? I have several "science faculty" professors who are willing to write me one, but I've never taken a class with them. The prehealth counselor at my school said that these didn't count as "science faculty" letters. Either I'm really screwed or my counselor is really stupid.

I interpret the LOR as any professor who teaches in a science department. It might be ok as long as the professor can attest to your strengths and knows you on a personal level.

So i called up some of the schools and they ALL said that LORs from "science faculty" DOES mean from a professor you've taken a class with. I don't really understand how taking a class with them would mean make them write a better letter, especially if you're a student with great connections with other science faculty. oh well...
