Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum. I am currently applying to Pharmacy schools thru pharmcas and i have had my professors send their letters of Recommendation thur pharmcas. However, a few schools that i want to apply thur do not use pharmcas. How do i send LOR to them. Do i have to go to my professor and ask them to write one, or can i print the letters of forms that they filled out and mail it to them with the professors signatures. I really need some helpl here.

thank you

If your school offers a letter service, you may be able to use the service. However, keep in mind that some pharmacy schools don't accept the LOR from the letter service.

All you can do is just go and ask your professor for more LORs. I have been through this as well and I know it is a pain. But hey if you want to become a pharmacist, there is no other way around it except going through the tedious and unpleasant application process.

Regarding printing the letters, you need to ask to the school of your choice for their policy. Some school may accept it though I strongly doubt it.

For non-pharmcas schools, I asked my professors to contact me after they had completed their letters. Rather than having them mail the letters to the designated schools, I went and picked them up and mailed them myself. I'm anal so I prefer to do everything myself. I like doing this because 1) I know exactly when the letters are mailed and can send them certified so I can check to make sure they arrived without dealing with the school and 2) I found that some of the non-pharmcas schools wanted LOR to be included with the application packet. It was easier for me to send everything all at once, rather than having to call and follow-up on each LOR. If you are going to do this, just make sure you have your recommenders sign the seal of the envelope.

For pharmcas schools, I had my recommenders fill out the LOR electronically. It was quick and not as annoying as waiting a week or more for pharmcas to receive and then update that part of my application.

Hello cherokee. I had applied to several non-PharmCAS schools for which I also needed LORs. To make the letter-writing experience as convenient as possible for my professors, I gave them a checklist of all the schools I need letters to (one of my professors asked me to do this and the others thought it was very considerate that I did the same for them). I also gave them stamped and pre-addressed envelopes to each of the schools I needed letters for. Your letter writers can either mail them out themselves... But what I did is arranged a day/time I could pick them up since I wanted to mail all my application materials together in one big envelope.
