ok..so after having to turn down the last school that accepted me, i wonder if anyone has ever sent an email to schools that have rejected them, but making the email say "sorry, i am declining your offer because i got accepted to a school much better and higher ranked than yours. hopefully, you can find someone with lesser stats to replace me in time" just to confuse the admissions ppl and let out a little suppressed anger

hilarious

this reminds of a guy i know who got accepted to like 5 schools but got rejected to one and got pissed off because of it. it was my understanding that his stats were good and probably much higher than the class average but he was so unhappy about it that he contacted the school to see why he was turned down....but i would just let it go at this point. Congrats on getting in, especially at more than one school.

I thought it was silly when a certain "safety school" rejected me for undergrad after I had been accepted to USC and UCLA 😛 I looked at it as something to laugh about 😛

That sounds like an excellent idea. You can also state that they were not worthy of your tuition dollars. They had bad food on the interview, etc.

Funny if you are kidding. I wouldn't do it though!
Small world and all. 🙂

I think you're joking..hopefully. Unless they personally offended you, I can't see why you would be angry with them. Sure they might put you on hold too long or something. But you're joking right?

Be careful. Every single one of the top schools do not have a strong dental curriculum.

And if you're going to start a thread about how spectacular you are, make sure you don't come off as dumb. Check your grammar.

it was a JOKE you people (note the laughing head i put into the post)

no, i haven't done it.

i just think its ironic to get into four schools, but then be rejected from two schools are predominately religious or minority schools. hmmmmmmmmmmm

LOL.

p.s. i love this mentality that after spending about $300 (not including tuition fees from undergrad, living expenses, etc.) to apply to a school, you should just "accept" that they basically threw your application in the trash when other schools obviously thought it was a good one. people should embrace this idea and be more pawns of the system. I totally agree.

yes. we do have to accept it. we have to play by the rules of the system. we chose to involve ourselves in this system and apply. bc for those that weren't accepted, there must be hope that an acceptance may come in future years. we pay the fee regardless of the outcome. does anyone ever ask for a refund from schools that accepted them?

this is a small world and people talk, especially in administration.
besides that, there's such a thing as diplomacy.
besides that, there's such a thing as understanding where another person is coming from. maybe those two schools rejected you because they were confident you would get in somewhere else, and they wanted to keep their spots open for someone else, someone who may not have 4 options.

or maybe they noticed the chip on your shoulder.

Yeah. What is even worse is some people telling others, usually whose motivations for going into dentistry they don't approve of, that when they apply for a school they should consider that someone has to be rejected for them to get accepted.

Who cares about that? Who is so compassionate that they would care if someone they don't know was not accepted as a result of your acceptance?

Stephi3, obviously you didn't send that email, but be grateful that you were accepted at the schools that you wanted. Not that you are not grateful, and not that you didn't deserve it, ofc.

For many qualified students, these rejections can come at their top or only choices, it can be kind of random.

We don't always fit in everywhere.

Tell the 'oh woe is me. I was accepted to only 4 schools, 2 schools had the gall to reject me boo hoo' story to someone who did not even get an interview.

The diamond shoes are too tight huh?:meanie::laugh:

if i ran the world, i would start a dental school and accept EVERYONE who applied. you wouldn't even have to have a 3.0 gpa or pass the DAT or do a background check. then no one would feel bad and everybody could be dentists.

Back in the 80's that's how some law schools were. They would accept almost anybody that applied, but that first year was a living hell. There would be over 50% attrition rates, but at least everyone had a shot.

😱 Then I, for one, am glad you do not 'run the world' :slap:

sounds to me like you don't sit around a campfire holding hands and singing songs enough

Man if I were the ADCOM, I would put your name in BOLD RED on the university Sh*tlist.

This is a bad joke.👎
And why is it ironic that you didnt get into the other schools? Obviously they were catered towards people of a certain religion or people of a certain minority of which you probably were not. It would be more ironic if those were the only schools that DID accept you.
You got to be more considerate of other people that werent as fortunate as you and I.
