Hi all,

I'm a student who does some photography on the side. I was going through pictures using a flash and noticed this little guy's eye looks suspicious for leukocoria. I didn't see the light reflex in his R eye in any pictures.

Does this look like leukocoria to you?

Just wanted another opinion before I send the family an email for him to be evaluated by his ped. I don't want to freak them out if it's nothing, but on the other hand I'd hate to miss a retinoblastoma, or other concerning problem, that was right in front of me!

Thanks for your opinions!

Yes, have him see his pediatrician or ophthalmologist right away.

I hope it ends up being something benign but you have every right to be concerned. Nice pick-up. If the family has access to a pediatric ophthalmologist they can go straight there. If not then pediatrician, referral --> pediatric ophthalmologist. They should bring the photos for the pediatrician.

Thank you. I really appreciate all your opinions. I just sent the family an email with the pictures suggesting they take him to the pediatrician/ophthalmologist.

I realize this forum isn't a place to diagnose people, but I'm in between rotations for a few days and wanted another opinion asap.

Thank you!
