Why does the LAP score increase in Leukemoid Reaction and decrease in CML?

LAP is present in normal neutrophils, but not in malignant ones. Therefore, LAP score will be low in CML (where there's an abundance of malignant cells) and will be increased in leukemoid reaction (where there's an abundance of normal neutrophils).

Vit. B12 binding protein is synthesized by both normal and malignant cells > More binding protein > Increased vit. B12 levels.

Thanks 🙂 I graduated from a medical school in Turkey, so I doubt you know it. 🙂 I recall LAP score being mentioned in one of the lectures, but I've read vit. B12 elsewhere.
