Does anybody know if a hospital can achieve Level 3 trauma certification without having an Anesthesiologist available 24/7/365? I know that CRNAs can be the bedside provider based on the criteria that I have seen and there would be anesthesia services available 24/7/365 via CRNAs. There would be an anesthesiologist liaison to the trauma service, but a sole anesthesiologist cannot possibly be available every minute of every day, even if for just phone consultation. I just can't seem to find any specifics stating that an anesthesiologist MUST be available at all times.
