Are liability/malpractise insurance payments considered to be a part of the 55-65% overall overhead in a typical dental practice? If not, what is the average monthly/annual insurance payment for a recent grad or practise owner with 10 years of experience and a clean liability record? Also, how commonly do dentists face malpractise suites?
I have tried to do some research on this topic and can not get a good sense of what the average malpractise insurance premium payment is for a recent graduate. I have only been able to find out that, generally speaking, the rates are higher if you are providing services as a perio/OMS and also if you are over 60 years of age.
Any information on this topic would be much appreciated!
