Rule #1 of insurance companies: increase the bottom line. Thus premiums will alway increase, its just a question of how much.

Both fields have pretty high liability. Anesthesia is getting safer and safer, thus premiums will increase less than other specialties. Radiology services have seen an exponential increase in usage, thus the more images that are read, the more misses will be, due to sheer numbers. This will probably result in a greater than average increase in premiums for radiologists.

There's a saying that goes something like 'If you've never missed an [insert finding], you haven't read enough studies.'

At any rate, both anesthesiology and radiology are fascinating fields that offer decent lifestyles and good reimbursement. Don't worry so much about liability. Neither of these specialties has the liability of Neurosurgery or OB. Do what makes you happy.

These are the national averages. In some areas the premiums are much higher.

Like hans19 said, I wouldn't worry about the premiums when making a specialty choice. Even the extra $20,000 Ob/Gyns pay is less than 10% of their annual income. Do what you enjoy.

Take these numbers with a grain of salt.
In NJ, Radiologists pay 3-4 times what was listed.

Pretty outdated numbers, accross the board you want to add at least 30% to that. For some areas like NYC, Nassau, most of jersey, CT, Mass, Cook County, Missisippi, PA, NV you can multiply them by a factor of 2-4.
