How does getting licensure work? Say there is a state you want to practice in, do employers only consider you if you're licensed in the state first? Or can employers offer you a job right off the bat contingent on you passing? If any PT who has some experience with this can elaborate that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

well you take a national board exam...and very few states require a state board too. Arizona is where I started, and had to take a separate arizona test(like 40 questions, super easy, basically about state rules(i.e. supervision requirements, make sure you change your address after you move, etc). you know, classic state money grab. Depends on the employer. If they like you they will wait the month or so it takes to get your license.
When I moved to Illinois they offered me the job but wouldn't let me actually accept it until my license went through. No big deal.
