lidocaine and A-fib

heard on jensen's audio blue that lidocaine is contraindicated in pts w/ a-fib. can anybody elaborate on how/why. can't find anything in the textbooks. perhaps jensen said it only lowers the threshold for a-fib, i'm not sure now.

don't remember actually why but i have learned just to use lidocaine for ventricular based arrythmias. i think it can actually speed up AV nodal conduction and/or allow for Afib with RVR
