Hey guys,

Just want to know what do you guys look forward to in life once you start your career after pharmacy school? Do you like your now than when you were a student?

Paying off those loans. Oh yeah. One more year!

At what age do you guys start thinking about starting a family?

Anyone here is paying back their student loans through IRB plan or using standard repayment?

Just graduated and have about $200K in loans and I applied for PAYE, was approved for $0 monthly payment and intend to pay about $2000 per month. I think and hope I can still live comfortably after paying that. Single. Loan is my only responsibility and I might help my parents out here and there

Hi, I have been admitted to UT's pharmacy school but have been reevaluating my decision. Would you do pharmacy all over again? If you could do something differently in pharmacy school, what would you do?

I would honestly. I'll probably put more effort into extracurricular activities rather than ignore if I had to do it again

Question about the law exam.

Have you guys heard of Pharmacyexam? I just ace all 5 sections of the questions and just wanted to know if that means I will do well on the exam.

I looked forward to become financially independent. To me, that meant not living on borrowed money, not needing economic help from my parents, and not being dependent on any particular job, skill set or company. So after graduation I worked hard, did overtime, per diem jobs, and paid off all my student loans and mortgage. It worked out well. You barely have any bills once you're debt free so I have $5-7k/mo in disposable income. Much better than being a student 😉

Anyone here worked more than 40 hours per week just so that they can pay off their student loans?

For people who use online dating profiles/tinder, what type of success rate have you had so far? As far as professionalism goes, I'm refraining from including information such as my profession and where I live.

I met my wife -

and a lot of crazy people

but mostly normal professional women who were new to the area and didn't know many people

ya - don't put your profession - not that women see pharmacists and see dollar signs, but generally just not a smart idea in my opinion

Word. I just said that I sell drugs and often sold them knowing that they'd be taken by kids. I got a lot of hate mail, but got a lot of less hostile folks messaging me too. Now I'm steady with someone I met on Tinder. She's cool with the DINK lifestyle, so I'm very thankful to have met her.

I'm working more than 40 hours a week so I can buy a Tesla Model 3 next year. Also to keep my inpatient pharmacy skills strong, but mainly for the car.

I'm not paying extra on my student loans because I work for a non-profit and am trying to take advantage of the PSLF program. I'm on track to getting the last year forgiven at my current rate of pay. Of course, if I go into consulting in a few years and start bringing in close to 200k/year... sure, I'll go ahead and pay them off.

I knew a woman who was targeted by a sleazeball guy for money. Her profile mentioned being a pharmacist and was kind of boastful about a lot of things, so I guess she was asking for it. In fact it may have been a strategy to meet dudes. People are weird.

Off topic, but have you started the job at Florida Hospital yet? I'd be interested to see how you like it. When I was in Florida I kept my eye on them and you just never know when I'm going to move to Orlando.

I've been on and off those things for a few years, with varied success. Met my current boyfriend through OKCupid, though we've been dating a bit less than 2 months. Putting that you are a pharmacist might also help you land other health professionals or people with a high level of education. Never had anyone try to extort me.

As far as life, it's great right now. I work a M-F 8-4:30 unicorn job, so I can do whatever I want every weekend. Pretty much anything I want is walking distance from my apartment. I have 4 weeks vacation so I can travel (going to Peru in September). I work for the government, so they help me with loans. I think this move back east has worked out well so far.

I pick up retail shifts (2-3/month) to supplement my hospital paycheck. Works out nicely since we do four 10-hour shifts. Could work more if I wanted/needed.

I'm confused about Tinder. I've never used it, but I thought that people used to talk about how it was exclusively for securing NSA, FWB hook-ups? Is it basically a normal eHarmony-type service now?

It's whatever you want it to be. You set your boundaries. If a person sounds like they only want a hookup you don't have to meet up with them. If you want a hookup, I'm sure it's easy to find one. I just used it as another tool to meet guys I wouldn't otherwise.

There are plenty of guys trolling eharmony and match looking to just get laid as well. It's not that hard to put up a pretty significant personal filter and avoid those people.

I'm looking forward to getting a pergola installed, and I'm trying to find a non-hokey outdoor ceiling fan to go in it. Yup.

I had my share of fast cars and women in my 20s, 'twas fun.

Peru is a lot of fun. The 7 day trek to Machu Picchu was an amazing experience that I will always cherish. Lots of great things to see all over the country. Have fun!

Ok, let's say that I'm a guy who wants nothing but NSA/FWB hookups and absolutely nothing in the form of relationships..... what should my profile, pic, etc. look like?

Unless you look like an actor with 6 pack abs, you can't make your profile looking for NSA. Most girls avoid ONS. You can however tell them whatever they want to hear and bail.

For GF material, there are girls who makes you pay for everything too, and think you are there to buy their time. I drop them after 3 dates if they never offer to pay. It sets up the wrong power dynamic.

I definitely enjoy the now versus when I was a student. Financial independence is priceless and I am able to help my family when they need me now.

50 inch screen, money green leather sofa
Got two rides, a limousine with a chauffeur
Phone bill about two G's flat
No need to worry, my accountant handles that.

I'm pretty content with what I have. Not wanting something is the same as having it. Looking forward to working 3 years around 60 hours a week to pay off my loans. Then working another 3 to save up money to qualify for a loan for my first independent pharmacy. Then hiring all cute techs so i can have my own person harem. I have two 503(c)(3) i want to start in NYC helping out opiate addicts (with help from a non-profit in Canada) and individuals incarcerated in prison (education). I will continue to live in the 4x8 trailer i built to save money pics related (free rent! no cost to street park) and i would feel too guilty to live in a nice apartment when there are so many people homeless. I might splurge and get the 7mm thick blue tarps to use for my roof protection instead of the the 3mm blue tarps i currently use. Also might upgrade my electric generator. Eventually when i buy my second independent I think i will secure a location big enough where I can sleep at the pharmacy when it's not open. I will be sending money back to my mom, dad and brother all who live at home and don't work. I will also be able to increase my donations to Wikipedia foundation and NPR significantly.

As for Tinder, in my experience it is mainly a hook up/informal sex app. The whole concept of judging people based on a few cell phone camera pictures is extremely superficial. I have used it to sleep with around 20 girls. A lot of mentally unsteady people on that app for sure. I once had sex with a girl on Tinder within 15 min after meeting her at Subway. I guess you could say she had two 6 inches that day. :/

It's not so much about your pics but about what you say. If you are looking to hook up you should get their phone number or snapchat within the first 15 min of talking to them via tinder. If they don't meet up within a week (give excuses or say they need to get to know you more) then they are not looking to hook up and are probably on Tinder exclusively for ego validation / curiosity. It's just a numbers game. Match with 100 girls, get 10 numbers meet up with 3.

She's a smart one; it is indeed more economical to order a foot long and eat half now and half later.

Any advice on how to deal with bossy pharmacy techs or difficult techs?

I don't understand why people use online dating as validation. One time I was browsing on OK cupid and saw a girl who happens to be a student at my school. I messaged her and then the next day she deactivated her profile. :/

Anyone here still keep in touch with classmates or faculties?

So you are seriously living in a 4x8 trailer? Figured you were kidding, but just wanted to make sure.

I had no idea that Tinder could be so useful for easy hookups. So you literally just made plans over Tinder to meet a girl at Subway, ate a couple sandwiches, then high-tailed it off to you-know-what? It's as simple as that?

Yes, but my shift Monday will pay for a trip to Europe and dinner at Noma...

When a couple says that they met online I can't help but cringe... maybe it's because of that creepy guy on the eHarmony commercials.
