AT LAST!!! The DAT is over!! I can finally crawl out of the zombie-shell that I have been living in for the past several weeks!!

I took the Kaplan course, and I feel that it didn't do a very good job in preparing me for the "real" DAT.

PAT: 17
QNT: 18
RCP: 21
BIO: 20
GCH: 18
OCH: 20

First of all...i didn't score anything less than 21 on the practice perceptual exams...and the real one was murder!! for one of the hole punching questions, they had this picture of an oragami crane or something and then they punched 4 holes in it. Also, all the angles for the angle ranking were identical.

The general chemistry (which i hadn't scored higher than 15 on) was much easier than expected. Bio was an absolute horror show, and organic...well, whatever.

either way, im never looking at DAT stuff ever again!! Hey, does anyone know anything about protesting sections of the exam? (i.e. perceptual?).

Thanks to everyone who helped with encouragement along the way!!

overall opinion: real DAT is harder than expected...but I did better than expected. whatever that means?

Reed--

CONGRATS! Great job on your DAT. Those are scores that are solid and to be proud of! As desi said go get your money back and then put it towards parting😉

Good job pal

Reed,

i had several problems with perceptual section of my DAT... the resolution was extremely poor. sides of the angles were broken, for key hole and wrapping sections you couldnt make out the excat shape, ... and so on. i used to get 20's on kaplan stuff but i had to guess on some on real DAT... i got a 15 on PAT that day...

i called DAT people and complained... they gave me the option of retaking the WHILE THING ... i retook it, used a different computer at the same center and (though still same problems) and got an 18..

my point being... if you really want to retake PAT, you will have to retake the entire test again. if you call and complain they'll wipe out your present scores and have you take a another test for free to replace this one.

good luck to you.

comet

yo comet, im actually alright with the 17. there is no way that im sitting through the WHOLE THING again!! no way!! im sitting on a 3.6 gpa, with a MS degree behind me, a few publications, study abroad experience, and all the other cookie-cutter pre-dent crap.

if a 17 on the PAT keeps me out of dental school...the adcoms can-uhhh, well...you know. thanks though!!
