Hey all,

I was wondering about the lifestyle of an anesthesiology resident. How many hours do they average per week? ect... Any input would be very helpful.

depends on the program. some programs i've interviewed stress that they average 50-60 hours per week. residents at other programs say they average 10-12 hour days plus call, which bumps you up to 60-72 hours per week at least.

days typically start between 6a and 630a. ending times vary between programs and day to day and range anywhere from 3p to 6 or 7p. weekends are typically your own, unless you're on call. (all of the above info is what i've gleaned during the interview process, so take it with a grain of salt)
