Anyone have a link to that excel file showing if we need things like letters stating number of hours of shadowing from dentists?

So recently, I contacted Tufts about an error in my application and they just so happened to notice I had not gotten in a letter from my dentist stating 30+ hours of shadowing.

There are a lot of people here who are wondering why they haven't heard back from schools. This could be why for a few of you??

Wait are you saying Tufts requires a letter from your dentist verifying how many observing hours you've done?

Required Letters of Evaluation:

1 Letter from a Biology professor

1 Letter from a second science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Math or Physics
*Or a pre-professional composite committee letter

1 Letter from a general dentist providing proof of at least 30 hours of dental shadowing experience--please note this letter must include approximate number of hours.

Absolutely, you just need to have your dentist say "more than 30" though.

Yes I remember reading this same thing on the Tufts website. So when my dentist mailed in my letter, I asked her to include approx number of hours as a detail in the letter, so they can tie it back to my application.

Hrm.... the letter my dentist wrote for me basically said "spent numerous hours... most hours of any predent in my 12 years of practice". I wonder if Tufts will read that as more than 30... poo

I think Tufts will read your letter as more than 30 hours. Also you inputted it into AADSAS separately (beside your rec letter right?), so it should say the number of hours there too.

Yeah that is what I'm thinking to (and hoping). It would suck to not be considered on a technicality like that. Hey we have the exact same DAT scores!

has anyone called Tufts about the 30 hr req? I mean if my dentist did not specifically mention 30 hours, would I need another letter to verify?
