Anyone know where the linking step from when pyruvate gets turned into acetyl coA takes place? I cant seem to find a good answer if it is the cytosol or mitochondrial matrix. Thank you!

Matrix. Only glycolysis occurs in the cytosol.

This step AKA pyruvate decarboxylation. That should help you find any additional information should you need it.
