Hello!
I am having trouble deciding which school I will ultimately choose to attend this fall.
Can anyone help???
Lipscomb:
Pros:
-program is already established (second class)
-faculty was extremely nice and helpful
-facilities were amazing (anyone who interviewed there knows what i mean!)
-low cost of living in nashville (I'm thinking about buying a cheap house)
-
Cons:
-I am an east coast guy (have lived on the east coast all my life (NJ) and would be a different environment in nashville for me)
-travel time from nashville to NJ is much greater... inconvenient
Notre Dame:
Pros:
-close to my family in NJ (we are pretty close and baltimore is within driving distance)
-baltimore is really nice
Cons:
-high crime rate in some parts of baltimore
-first class (risky?)
-much higher cost of living in baltimore
I am sure I am forgetting some things that I have been thinking about. I have to place a deposit on one or the other (or both) within the next week. I don't mind placing a deposit on both, but I don't want to screw someone out of a seat at either place and I really want to make up my mind soon!
When I went to the Lipscomb interview, everyone was so nice and the school was amazing. I felt really comfortable there and I love the school and curriculum plan in general. It was definitely the "awe" factor which got me for this school. The only thing I hesitate about is because my family is in NJ and we are pretty close and it is much harder to travel between nashville and NJ. Also, the school seems extremely organized and prepared even though this is only the second class. I feel "safer" in a second class and because this school seems sooo organized (love that). The faculty was so friendly and really made me feel like they wanted me to come to their school.
The interview at Notre Dame was alright. It just wasn't that impressive. I know they are renovating the building but there was nothing to see yet so it makes me slightly uneasy about it... especially since it is the first class. The faculty we met (there weren't many there) were nice but they seemed non chalant about their school and wanting me as a student. However, baltimore is much closer to my family and within driving distance.
Ugh, I just don't know!!! I need some help!
Thanks!
