I listed in my AMCAS application that I will be taking Biochemistry in the upcoming semester (I also noted this in several secondaries). However, it is not available in my area (Chicago) in the evening, at a time that fits with my work schedule (I work full-time for this year).

I am not sure if I should try and take another class or try and take Biochemistry online (sounds like not the best idea to me). I'm concerned that not taking a class that I listed on my AMCAS application and instead working full-time will reflect negatively on my application. I know it's not terrible, but is there any truth to that? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

As long as none of the schools you are applying to require Biochem before matriculation, I think you're fine not taking it.

Maybe consider sending out an update letter to schools though.
