Listing undergrad activities in ERAS

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Were they critical in shaping the person you are today and directing your choice of specialty? Or are you just trying to fill in some blanks on ERAS?

If you look at it this way, I think the answer will be obvious.

I did a bunch of research as an undergrad, and I included that on my ERAS app. I didn't include the other stuff though. Unless you did a ton of awesome service or something, I'd probably not include it.

^This.

If you have major, relevant volunteer or research experience put that on your app.

Participating in the annual Kappa Dorka Losa blood drive for 2 years...leave that off.

I know you can write descriptions for your experiences in either prose/paragraph or bullet form, do you think programs have a preference? I wrote small paragraphs for each one (the character limit is pretty high so I assumed it was okay) but didn't want reading them to get annoying to program directors haha

According to a faculty member, the less time the ad com spends reading your experiences, the more time they have to focus on your LOR and PS. Except for research, keep things reasonably short.

I never thought of it that way, thanks!

this is a bit off topic... but anyone have any advice on whether to list away rotations on ERAS?
