I know that research is a good way to stand out to admissions, and I was wondering if research in a literary setting would stand out? I have some science research experience as well, I’m just wondering if original research for my English minor will look good to vet school admissions, or if I should stick with science related research

I did significant communication studies and biology education research in undergrad and included it on my application. I do think it made me a very unique applicant, so I would include it if I were you. It didn’t come up in interviews, but I wrote about it in several supplemental essays.

I think it would make you stand out certainly, but I’m of the opinion it probably won’t hold equal weight to science research. Like if you were choosing between doing the two, I’d choose science, but if you have the non-science stuff regardless I would absolutely include it.
