Does anyone have any experience using a littmann 3000? I think the noise reduction feature would be really useful for traumas/codes, but is the stethoscope worth the $?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the limiting factor in auscultation is between your ears, not against the patient's chest. Plus, a "plain old stethoscope" doesn't run out of batteries halfway through a night shift.
these things are horrible. i was on a cardiology rotation and another student had one and you can hear way too much. i couldn't hear the heart sounds over the chest hair scratching on the thing.
