I originally went to CW Post on Long Island to take my Undergrad classes, but I left the school because I didn't want to spend as much on my Undergrad considering how much Pharmacy school costs.

I transferred to Touro College here on Long Island this past semester, and am working toward getting my Bachelor's in Biology and am considering applying to their Physician Assistant program upon graduating.

However, I really do love pharmacy (I'm a tech at CVS) and wouldn't mind applying to Pharmacy school either eventually...at lot of the pre-reqs are the same for the PA program and Pharmacy.

I have a few Cs and one F on my transcript because of a death that occurred in my family right around finals time 2 years ago, and I could not sit for my final exam.

My GPA is kind of low, but I'm working hard this semester on getting it back up. Do you think I still have a chance?

Of course you do, espicially since you have pharmacy experience. But, you are going to have to do something to make yourself stand out over your previous low grades.

Based on my anecdotal evidence, LIU favors their pre-pharmacy students over transfers. I know of one transfer who got an interview, but with a pretty stellar GPA.

lol, I'm a transfer student but with a 4.0 GPA and much higher PCAT score than they require, and I still haven't gotten an interview.

Do yourself a favor and don't apply to LIU, brooklyn campus. Go read some reviews and ask real students there before applying. I live about 10 minutes drive from LIU but would choose SUNY buffalo which 7 hours drive over LIU if it accepts me.

To each his own, but every single pharmacy student there told me that it is the absolute worst program. And they are already in pharmacy school so they don't need to lie to me so that I can leave the spot for them.

I was thinking of Buffalo also. I was thinking of even transferring there to complete my pre-reqs. I'm just kind of iffy about it because I've already been to like 3 different schools. They do accept transfers for the pre-pharm program right?

Sure, they accept transfers to their pre-pharm program but they do NOT give preference to their own students when applying to the PharmD program. I submitted my application and within two days, yes two days, I got an interview invite.

I wouldn't recommend you finishing the pre-pharm up there because I heard it's super competitive and if you fall below 3.5 GPA, you are most likely rejected. Just apply from outside like a lot of other students including me.

Every single LIU student advised me to go to Buffalo and they said that if they would do pharmacy all over again, they would choose buffalo any day.
