Just wanted to hear anyone's thoughts, feedback, or impressions on either program (whether about the interviews, campus, faculty, or program itself).

Thought I should also include my story so far:
Already got accepted into LIU (Brooklyn) and just went for an interview for UMDNJ (Newark). However, LIU is asking for a deposit by Jan. 20 and UMDNJ doesn't send response letter till the end of Jan. I already talked to one of the coordinators at UMDNJ about my situation and she said to call them back around the 15th. Although I live in central New Jersey and would honestly prefer to go to UMDNJ since it is in-state and tuition costs are lower, I am still kind of split on which way I should go (that is of course if I do also get accepted into UMDNJ).

my line of reasoning is that you're pretty much going to be at least 100+k in debt. what's the difference in another 500 dollars? Marginal, at best. Although i think it's weird that LIU gave me a deadline of jan 6th, instead of yours on the 20th and we received the emails around the same time... umm, sketchy? needless to say i put my deposit in already. good work on the acceptance tho!

actually i asked for an extended deadline from jan. 6 to the 20th. i apologize for not bringing that up before. but thanks so much for your input!

Actually I think LIU is much more expensive than UMDNJ since its a private school. Its tuition is over $1k a credit and has an annual increase of 6% (according to the APTA website).

Yea your absolutely right because UMDNJ is I think only about half of what I would pay yearly (even just as much as the college I am in right now) compared to LIU. Even though I have received an e-mail from LIU saying that they are still pending on whether to award me a scholarship, I feel that I would still pay a lot anyway. Plus I would also have to find a place to live in Brooklyn whereas I could still live at home and commute to UMDNJ.

kvp325, so pam boyle said decision letters will be mailed by jan 20th???

No that's when I have to make my deposit to LIU (it was originally Jan. 6 but I managed to get it extended for me). I know UMDNJ gives out letters by the end of January but I have to call Ms. Boyle about my situation (I told her about it during my interview day and she said to give her a call around the 15th).

kvp325, did you receive an acceptance email last week?

Hey! I had an interview at LIU on Jan. 27th. Just wondering when you received your acceptance email? Was it immediate or did it take a few weeks?

Hey HopeForChange. I interviewed December 9th and didn't receive my acceptance email until January 10th. It takes them about a month...That's the timeline they gave us when we interviewed. Maybe they are making decisions a bit faster now though.

So I was wait-listed for UMDNJ. However, they say that I am on top of their waiting list so chances of a seat opening up for me should be good. If anything I have LIU as a back-up.

Hey, does anyone know anything about the UMDNJ-Stratford program? I've been accepted to Newark and Stratford and I'm going back and forth between the two..any advice?
