hey guys i basically narrowed it down between ACP and LIU .currently (senior in HS) Seriosuly lost between which school will be better for me or to attend... deadline is may 1. I fear ACP because of their attrition rate although they thier program has a good reputation, while LIU's neighborhood isn;t that great though the pharm program okay.

Any comments or suggestions are welcomed

I am an LIU student. You should not worry about the neighborhood. The campus is a bit smaller but the school is decent. The only thing I would complain about is their high tuition. The thing is, with LIU, there is no guarantee that you will advance to the third year of the six year program. If you feel that you want to have a secured six years, got to ACP.

oo thx for the reply i was actually worried about the neighborhood being insecure... i heard that although the school doesn;t guarantee a place for third year...they give first priority to LIU students over transfers..ahhh i hate making these decisions~

The neighborhood is pretty decent during the day, at night however, it can get bad if you're walking to the train station or something. I've had to pull out my knife to ward off a mugger about 4 times since I started at LIU (Fall 2005), and I've had to actually use it once.

woah Sparda... thats crazy... knowing that i have a chance of being mugged while im walking to my train station. So isecurity is definitely a factor..for at least at night..

Wow, first time I have heard that. I am a girl and I was from Brooklyn Tech, about a few blocks away from LIU on Dekalb Avenue. Throughout my five years around this area, I have never been mugged. Must be luck.

I really do doubt that you can get mugged on the way to the subway. It's 2 either 4 feet away from the campus if you're taking the B, Q, N, R or 2 blocks away if you're going for 4 and 5.

I have lived in South Brooklyn my whole life (20 yrs) and have never been mugged. Three of my friends attended Brooklyn Tech - never been mugged, even when returning home at later hours.
Either Sparda wears a "Attack Me" note on his back, or it's just another one of his tactics to steer away his competition.🙄
