Hi Everyone,

Im curious to know more about LIU? I have an interview there at the end of this month but have already been accepted to NYU. It sounds like a lot of people have applied to LIU but not to NYU. Is there any particular reason why?

From my research it looks like LIU is just as expensive if not more expensive than NYU. Their per credit fees range between $1028-$1193 and that does not include additional fees. I also read that they have a tuition increase of 6% a year! NYU is no doubt expensive at nearly $120k but the rate is not changed for the incoming class.

I realize that one incentive may be the scholarship LIU offers to offset tuition. On a side note I met a student from LIU who has a side job and she said that the tuition is costing her a fortune and that there was some type of strike recently with the faculty and/or students? She also mentioned that the scholarship offered has some fine writing and not everyone qualifies for it. Has anyone else heard this same thing?

Hello!

I don't know how much help I'll be, but I did interview at LIU on December 9th. I actually asked about the cost of their program and the director said the total cost is about $106,000 and will go up to probably $109,000 for our year. Out of the 43 students in the class of 2015, 25 will receive the physical therapy scholars award The stipulations on the award are that you must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (which is required to remain in good academic standing). They said they have never had a student withdraw due to financial reasons and that they will do anything they can to help ease the financial burden. They also said that they try to rotate their graduate assistantships around so that everyone gets the opportunity to do it. This is valued at about $6,000 per semester that you do the GA.

I hope this helps! I loved what I saw when I was there and will most likely be attending.

Hi!
I also have an interview at LIU-Brooklyn at the end of January. I've noticed that a lot of people on here have already gotten accepted here and what you think the odds are of getting in?
