would it be possible to live near whitmore lake and commute to ann arbor?

i am trying to buy something, and wondered if anyone can give me advice about areas that are good.

thanks

US23 can be pretty bad going into AA during rush hours. If you've looked on a map, you probably know that Whitmore lake isn't that far, but with traffic between 23 and the north side of town, you can often double ETA .

Yes, I saw on the map that it is only ~10 miles. I'm assuming from your reply that coming to and from school would make it necessary to drive during rush hour.

I'm going to have to make a trip myself to look around for things that are closer, but I'm starting to look for housing early.

Anyone with tips feel free to send me a message.---or any others heading to ann arbor....

thanks.

I'm an M4 here and I know someone in our class that lives in Whitmore Lake. It's between 10-15 minutes from the hospital / med school and traffic on US-23 is only really bad during the PM rush hour. During the morning it never gets that slow. Some people also live in Ypsilanti, Saline, Plymouth, all of which are cheaper than living in the "white coat ghetto" across the hospital.

thanks for the input.

for anyone else going to or at UMich, where are you guys planning on living, and when are you going to start looking?

does the school help out with that?
