Do any UPENN dental students/graduates have any tips/info about housing at Penn...I just mailed back my notice of acceptance/enrollment, and am wondering when would I receive info about housing?

Needless to say I am excited to be a part of UPENN's class of 2011!!!😀

here's a link to off-campus housing. there are some landlord evaluations here too. http://www.business-services.upenn.edu/offcampusliving/

so from what i've heard, living anywhere before 43rd street and between pine & walnut is good i guess. i wouldn't live in sansom (graduate dorm). it sucks.

or if you're big on having a personal washer/dryer like me, try http://thehubonchestnut.com . the people who run the building are idiots though. but hey, it's brand new, and i want my washer. 😱

Don't live in the dorms (Samsum)

Sansom place has gotten some bad rep... They have fire alarms go off at inconvenient times every now and then, the lighting is poor, and probably other things I can't think of right now... If you want no hassle in finding a place to live, it's easy to get housing there, but it would definately be worth it to find someplace else off campus.

Is it really that bad?? The girl that gave us the tour actually suggested that during the first year we should go there...

I guess not, ha? 🙂

neither do i. everyone i know hates it. and it's most certainly not fun to walk 8 blocks to get to the dental school during the cold.
