LLU Dexterity Test and Interview

Hi everyone,

I called up LLU today and pleasantly found out that I would be invited for the dexterity test on November 5. I was told by Marlie (spelling?) that 100 people would be called for the dexterity test on Nov. 5 and out of those 100, 40 people will advance to the interview stage on the next day, out of which, I think, 20 will be chosen.

I was told that one cannot prepare for the dexterity test in advance as they want to make it fair to everybody.

Marlie said she would mail the invitation letters soon.

This is my first dexterity test and hopefully, interview ever. So I don't know what to expect. Thus, anyone who has gone through the process last year or whatever, please post some inputs in terms what you were asked on the dexterity test; how you prepared for it and what were you asked for the interview. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey HYDBDS,

Thanks so much for your congrats and wishes. I am very excited and at the same time quite nervous. I've been quite depressed with this whole thing of IDP admissions. However, this invitation has definitely cheered me up and given me some hope 🙂.

BTW, hope your interview with UPENN went well. Best of luck with the admissions 🙂.

How do we prepare for the test ? Is it on a mannekin or we hold the bases in the hand?

I was told that the dexterity test is not a dentally related test, ie. they won't ask us to prep. a crown or do any direct restorations.

I don't have great stats like a lot of the people here. However, Loma Linda doesn't place as much of an heavy emphasis on one's scores like a lot of the schools. They also look at your personal statement, LORs ect. So God bless that school 😀. Anyway, my stats are: I:81; II:80; TOEFL:280; ECE:2.80

I called LLU. Good news is - they answered my phone
Bad news is - they said they don't have original trasncripts from my dental school. I sent notorized copy of transcripts bcz it is very clearly mention on application that - 'send notorized copy of transcripts'. now what sh'd i do. if i request my school in india it will take so much time.

Did all of u send original transcripts directly from your schools?

I called llu too. And listen to this, first time i called them and inquired whether i can reapply , i was told YES, second time they told me NO, third time i made it clear that why is there so much variation in answers, I was told rules had changed and u can reapply. Thank god 😛

Now, few days back i inquired about my application i was told my official ece and toefl missing. i said i am a reapplicant who was clearly told that I DONT NEED TO SEND THEM again. Then the person told me ok i will merge ur file.

Now, today when i asked them , i got the great news my ece, official transcript (directly from my school) and application fee is missing.

Bottom line
Seems like i sent a blank envelope

Any suggestions? 😕

i am having the same problem with another school i have applied too....they also keep saying silly stuff .....i dont know what to do ?????? really getting frustated...all u can do is to keep calling them

Hey Docnids,

Sorry to hear what happened to you. I, myself, had a hard time as well. I think I must at least called them 10 times before the deadline to ask them if they received everything. They kept telling me that they hadn't received my TOEFL and ECE reports which I had requested in July. So then I had to request for the TOEFL and ECE (overnighted) to be sent the second time. They finally told me that my application was complete 2-3 days before the deadine....phewww.......

Hey, just call them up and tell them that you'll send them the application fee ASAP and whatever else they need by courier.

My God, if I were in your shoes, I would be sooooo stressed out right now having them tell me that my application is not complete. So I can imagine what you're feeling right now.

Good one.Great sense of humor.....i must say.
It was almost the same case with me but then, finally they did gather all the stuff.I kept calling them up almost everyday & guess what....they even recognised my name after a few times.
But I didnot let them sit in peace while I was at unease...wow!!! that rhymes.

So....get set go.....call them up till they find your stuff.

In mail they asked to buy loops and white coat. I have interview in USC also. Again I need to book flight. for LLU. Oh God 😕 😕

My stats are below:
Part 1 - 87
Part 2 - 77
Toefl - 240
ECE GPA - 3.18

I am little bit confused now.. As per this post, dexterity test is not a practical test n its not related to dentistry,then i am not sure why they are asking us to carry magnifying eye wear (loops)? 😕

Few mints back called LLU - I asked them about applicants number they are calling this year - I was told that this year they are calling each applicant who applied there and then at the end of the day they will announce 40 names for interview for next day and then they will slect 20 out of them.

Why are they calling all students - I am not still getting it

i ahve been called for llu tooo...and just 4 days ater usc got to go for llu again...its geting costly.....well u got to spent something if u need somehthing...
