Hello,

I got an invitation for an interview from LLU. However, I do not have a reference letter from a religious leader (and will not be submitting one). Does this mean that a reference from a religious leader is not mandatory... or will this create problems come interview day?

Thanks

I'm guessing it doesn't matter much to them. Or that you've proved your theological proficiency elsewhere. Worst case scenario, they'll ask on interview day and you can explain why you didn't submit one. Generally, if they invited you for an interview, it means they're interested in you despite any shortcomings your application has.

It appears that they still make decisions without this letter. I received a rejection letter this week from them and my religious leader hadn't even submitted the reference letter yet. I would call them if you really want to know for sure. They are pretty nice on the phone. Best of luck to you!
