Hi all

I am about to buy a small apartment and I am thinking of mortgage. Is it true that if I get a mortgage then I may not be eligible for student loans? I will be starting dental school soon.
Any ideas? 😕

Well, I can't say it's this way for all cases...but I own my home and it's mortgaged. I was approved for a Grad PLUS loan today and without a cosigner. As far as regular Direct unsubsidized loans, there's no credit check involved.

How about Federal Stafford? Did you qualify for that?

I believe that is the same as a direct unsubsidized loan.
