...so uhm, i've filed the fafsa and ish and was wondering when do we hear how much money we get and when? are we supposed to hear back from fafsa soon or later in a few months? does anyone have any info for me?

You should get your Student Aid Report from FAFSA pretty quickly -- this is where you can find out your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). This is the number that determines how much aid you are eligible for. You should ultimately be eligible for your program's cost of education minus the EFC. (That doesn't mean you will be awarded that much money though!) You can access the Student Aid Report on http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

You would have to contact your school's financial aid office to find out when they actually calculate how much you have been awarded. My school is still "processing my application" for next year, but I figure they will be determining awards pretty soon.
