Is it feasible, and profitable as a locums physician to carry your own malpractice insurance working locums? IF you are providing care at multiple different facilities in different states.

Does anyone here do this?

I am asking, specifically, if you are working with small locums company, who have a claims base malpractice insurance and then down the road shut business and don't have an active policy, do i need to be concerned?

thank you

So long as they provide tail coverage then not an issue...if the locums company does not offer tail then don't work for them...there are plenty of companies out there that will protect you appropriately
