Appears most people there as residents are graduates of LL to begin with. Am I correct? Is the lack of outsiders due to inherent conflicts due to religion or are they interested in keeping most of their own students around? I ask because people have guessed that their current graduating class is full of anesthesia people, well more than 2 times the typical number of residents per CA-1 year.

I interviewed there a couple of weeks ago and this issue was addressed. Loma Linda SOM is something like third in the nation in terms of the number of thier medical school graduates that enter anesthesiology. They did say that in the past they took alot of their own graduates but are now ( in think with this year or last years class) taking more people not only from outside of Loma Linda but from around the nation. They said that with this match they want to have 1/2 loma linda and 1/2 elsewhere. From what ive seen and the people ive talked too, the whole 7 day adventist thing dosent really play a big role in resident life at all except for the food.
