Hi,

I have been accepted to Loma Linda, UOP and USC pharmacy schools class of 2020.
I would like to know your opinions. Which school would you choose and why?

My question is more regarding opinions on the school's curriculum, atmosphere, networking, job opportunities after graduation, flexibility, ... Also any aspects you find specific to the school.

Thanks,

Well for starters, UoP is actually class of 2019, since it is an accelerated 3 year program. I don't know that much about Loma Linda, but I do know for sure of the three, USC is a great school. As for atmosphere, I'm pretty sure you picked up the same vibes I did when I went to UoP's interview. UoP seemed like a miserable place to go to school. Surrounding area was horrible and the students seemed so uninterested. I did not apply to USC, so I don't know about the atmosphere. The area for USC is definitely not the safest though, since as soon as you walk off campus you're in the bad part of LA. As for Loma Linda, my bias is that its a religious school, and religion and medicine should not be intertwined. (obviously their program doesn't force you to study religion, but I hope you can see where I am coming from)

Loma Linda = religious school so if you are SDA go here, other than that theres nothing beneficial from going here, also expensive.

USC = go if you like being in debt.

UoP = 3 year so you will be able to enjoy unemployment sooner than your peers.

Without a doubt you should choose USC. It is a far more established school. Being one of first pharmacy school, it pioneered in clinical pharmacy. Maybe u can get a scholarship to waive some tuition. It offers good career connection or fellowship if you want to work in industry.
You should avoid Loma Linda. It is a good med school. I do not think it is a good pharmacy school. No research opportunity. Tuition is more expensive than USC. There will be no scholarship opportunity. You require to take religion class (paying for them). You require to go to chapel service.

USC campus might be unsafe. Health science campus is 8 miles away. It is nearby the hospital. The building looks nice and new. I think it is a safe place.
Loma Linda do not force u to practice religion. However, u are required to take bible class and go to the chapel services.
