Just a question for those who are in LIU's program or ANYONE that knows...

I'm a senior about to graduate with a BS in medicinal chemistry and it was just recently, like a couple of months ago that I decided to apply to LIU because it's close to home (I live in NYC). Anyway, I have all my prereqs except for anatomy, which I don't think I will be able to take because my school doesn't offer it in the spring. Also, LIU says all prereqs must be completed by the end of the spring semester so that rules out the summer. I can't take it at another community college in the spring because I don't have a car. I looked in their undergraduate bulletin and it says physiology is "higher" than anatomy, meaning anatomy is a prereq of physiology. So I thought, maybe I can replace anatomy with physiology. I emailed them and they said it's not possible. Are they just trying to shoot me down or what? What should I do?

I'm not applying to LIU, but I may have an option for you. I took anatomy & physiology 1 w/lab online out of FCCJ which is a college in Jacksonville, FL. You could easily register for the class. I would ask LIU if you would only need anatomy 1. There is also classes that can be taken online out of UC Berkeley through their extension program. I think they offer human anatomy, but don't quote me on it. The website is http://www.unex.berkeley.edu/ . If you need to take both A & P 1 and 2, then I'd suggest that you do it through FCCJ online. A class just started for A & P 1 yesterday. It's not too late to register, then you could take A & P 2 in the spring. If you'd like more information then feel free to message me. The address for FCCJ is www.fccj.edu . Good luck..

I agree with fsupharmguy - I'm taking A&P I online through a local community college (St. Louis Community College) right now. It is an accelerated class, so A&P II will start in about 3 weeks (A&P I started on Aug. 20th). I was also able to order books online, so it wouldn't have mattered if I did live far away. I would definitely check out online options - whether through 4 year or CC schools. There may be late-start classes you could still do this fall.

Good luck!

You're better off taking A&P I & II at a CC. That's why I did for them and got in.
