Hey guys, I'm in a pretty interesting situation. Was wondering what your take on what I should do from here out should be. This last year I was placed on academic probation for being 0.1\0.2, respectively per semester, under semester GPA. This was due to spending time with my new daughter (yes I know I should have been worrying about class, but was more worried about not seeing her). My current transcript is attached and my EC's prior to my daughter were volunteering twice a week at the local hospital in different areas totaling around 100 hours so far (I plan on returning soon) and being vice president of the math club on campus. Any thoughts or suggestions? Looking into D.O./Carib med schools.

What concerns me is that you've displayed a history of poor choice making. Are you at least aware that you can drop courses? Why didn't you do that when your daughter was born?

You're supposed to improve over time and learn from your mistakes, not keep repeating them.

Naturally, with AACOMAS' grade replacemently policy, once you re-take and get higher grades, your GPA will improve drastically. However, if you don't maintain a B=+ to A vag from now one, I suspect that people will look at your transcrips and say "pass on this guy/gal."

STRONGLY suggest you look into other career options.

Hi Goro, I was aware that I could drop them, but I was advised by my pre-medical advisor not to drop classes and that it is better to get bad grades and retake them than to have too many withdraws. Not only that, but at my college I have to have his signature now to drop/audit classes and so I followed what he was telling me. Is there any way to show that I am not incapable of making good decisions? I have signed up for a program at our school to learn better study habits and time management. What other things can I do to make myself a better applicant? Thanks in advance for the help!

Wow! I am appalled at the ignorance of your advisor. What he was telling you was career suicide.

Just excel in your coursework from now on (and get another advisor!)

Time mgt is a wonderful skill to have too.
