There was an article that appeared in either anesthesiology or anesthesia/analgesia a few years ago but I can't find it. It was a description of the last 60 years of ICU medicine in the united states. It detailed how anesthesiologist started ICU medicine in the US and how during the 70s and 80s it declined because private practice became more lucrative. Anyone know this article or has a copy or link?

👍 As one who is heavily interested in, albeit a LONG way away from, pursuing a career in critical care medicine via anesthesiology, I really enjoyed this article. Thanks for sharing!
