  1. Pre-Health (Field Undecided)
OK, so I've always been fascinated with pregnancy and birth which is why I've wanted to do obstetrics and gynaecology since I was younger. My problem is that I've been thinking a lot about being pre-med. I want children by my late twenties and I want to be around for my future family. Has being an ob/gyn interfered with your family life? And I know doing what you love should be more important than salary but is it true that you really don't make good money until you're 40? Considering having to pay off student debt and what not.

at best you're out of high school at 17
out of college at 20/21
out of med school at 24/25
out of residency at 28/29

and those numbers are VERY optimistic

so no you will probably not have children in your late 20s unless pops is around to watch them or some othe similar circumstances

and yea loans take around 15+ yrs to pay back :f

wanna deliver babies still ? be a midwife 🙂

Off the top of my head, of the many married female OB/Gyn's I know, I'd say close to half of them have one or more pregnancies before they finish residency/fellowship. So it is certainly do-able.

Is it EASY? I'm pretty sure if you ask them, they will mostly say NO.

And NO, hardly anyone has to wait until 40 to start earning a satisfactory salary.

Good luck!
