Good evening everyone!

I would love some insight and help with my current situation. Becoming a doctor has always been a dream of mine since I was little. Younger me decided to have too much fun and my early grades suffered from it.

I am in my early 30's, I just graduated with my bachelor's in Kinesiology with a 3.72. However, my overall cgpa and sgpa is a 2.12 and 2.4, respectively (from classes taken 2011-2025). I have about 199 undergrad credits taken. Last 60 units shows upward trend of 3.7.

I have calculated that it would take me around 120 credits of straight 4.0 to bring my gpa over a 3.0 which does not sound feasible. I have all of my pre-reqs completed with B/A's, however 3 classes will be expiring this year so I will need to retake those. I currently work full time as a CNA (I have over 8000 PCE hours), ~9000 HCE hours (scribe, scribe leader). I am in the process of studying for the MCAT.

What should my next steps be? Should I be applying for SMP with linkage programs? Is it worth it for me to just do a DIY post-bacc and look for programs once I take the MCAT? Are there any programs you recommend I look into? Any help with this is truly appreciated! Thank you!

A DIY post-bacc is fine. Take undergraduate level science courses that you have not previously taken. Some schools will mainly concentrate on your recent grades and 3.72 GAPA. Post your MCAT score here in the future and we can suggest schools.
