Looking for input on HPSP from those serving now

I am currently applying to Dental School and am interested in learning more about the HPSP. I know there is a big thread made in '07 bashing it but I would like to hear what people who may have recently graduated and are currently serving have to say about the program as it stands today. My Father practiced as a Naval Dentist after graduation (not through HPSP) and had the time of his life as he was stationed in Pensacola, so he is definitely a big advocate of it. It seems to be a very attractive opportunity, while competitive to get in, and I really would like to hear the pros and cons from people in it now. Check the military dentistry forum. Lots of HPSP stuff on there.
