  1. Pre-Pharmacy
Hi, I start my first year of pharmacy school next year at FAMU and I started looking over the review books done by Lippincott for Microbiology and Biochemistry. I wanted to get a bit of a head start and wondered if anyone had any advice on other subjects to look up, or good tips to get me started. Thanks a lot in advance and I hope everyone has a great summer.

I have advice, DON"T STUDY, relax, you will have plenty of time to study when you are over there.

If you really wanted to refresh on something... check out acid/base status, functional groups and pH/pKa.

But like tupac_don said, you will have plenty of time to study later, so try to relax as much as you can this summer.

When it comes to schoolwork I guess I am a little high-strung, I kind of just have this fear that the jump to professional courses would be too much if I didn't do some studying, but I like the advice of not studying so much better. 🙂

I think many of us have had the same fears. I admit that I did do a little preparing before I started pharmacy school, but that is because it had been so many years since I had some of the basic chemistry concepts.

If YOU feel like you better open a book during the summer..listen to your gut and do so...

professional degree school is no joke..and you might really wanna brush up some basic notion like Pharmagirl already suggested here go for the chemistry ones....will help you to have them fresh...

if you want something deeper ..buy you a basic pharmacology book..it's easy to read and will help you know what lies a head and build up some confidence for a fresh start... 😍

.....summer can be long..especially.....if you don't have anything to do...no full time job...so you might as well read something usefull....

You will be just fine.....
Congrat!!!!!
