I got my score (346) back this week from the 7/12 test and am beyond disappointed. I've searched SDN for other people who failed but wanted to ask the recent test takers. I used DIT, COMQUEST (around 68% first time through), Saverese, and studied for about 6 weeks. I walked in feeling fairly confident but left feeling violated. It felt like I worked so hard and studied so much then got blindsided. I'm not really sure how to describe my experience any other way. From what I've gathered I should perhaps use USMLEworld questions and MTB or Secrets. I'm in contact with my school and they are helping as well. I'll be in rotations (no auditions in the later summer/early fall) while studying and plan to take it again in early November. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I would HIGHLY suggest using UWORLD. The descriptions for questions you miss are much more thorough and complete. I would take sections on timed mode, and then afterwords go through each question I missed to understand why, and also questions I guessed on and happened to get correct. I would also read that section in Step Up. I can remember seeing several questions or subject areas on the COMLEX that I knew well only because of UWORLD questions. Comquest is a good review for the OMM questions. I reviewed Secrets as well the 2 days before the exam, and found it useful as well to help solidify some high yield topics. Sorry to hear about your experience. Keep your chin up and study hard, and you can blow it out of the water. Good luck!

I would agree with the above. UWorld for sure is super important to improve your to apply your knowledge. While doing a high volume of questions consistently is important, I would say its important to be able to think through the question and reason out why the correct answer is correct and why ALL the other choices are incorrect. AND the next most important part would be thoroughly reading the ENTIRE answer explanation...EVEN if you get the answer right. For the reason stated above.... if there is anything you don't understand or aren't 90% certain you will remember, start a notebook, and write it down. Re-read this notebook, every night before you go to bed. You will have re-read these things so many times before you take the test, you will know them!!! They should be short, 1 to 2 sentences. (At least this is what I did... it worked for me)

I would also advise using your "performance profile" from your COMLEX score report to let you know particularly where your weakness are and if you have some areas where you are strong, so you can your pure "reading" time to your weak areas.

Also if you did poorly in the OPP part I would advise doing to OMM DIT review. I did it purely because I couldn't make myself study the OMM for Level I, after being so burnt out from taking Step 1.... and it really paid off for me this year scoring >700.
