Hola amigos, I found out I'm going to UCSF for a visiting-e and now I'm in the need of housing. Problem is, I have no idea what areas I should be looking at AND whether or not someone is actually going to put up with my nonsense for a month. 😛 I figured I'd turn to you guys for help. Any UCSF path residents want to point me in the right direction? 🙂 C'mon, I'll even offer to buy dinner.

BTW, I'm a guy.

Have you posted in the wanted and housing section on SDN? You might try there and on craigslist.

Oh, I didn't realize there was one on SDN. I spend all of my time here. 😀

The best places to look are craigslist.org and http://www.housing.ucsf.edu/housing/.

There are a lot of sublets on craigslist but many of them are either expensive or go quickly--be prepared to drop a lot of money for one month.

If you don't have a car and are planning on using public transportation (which I think is pretty decent), there's a good map here.

Happy hunting!

I would recommend living off of the N-Judah (the MUNI train that runs by UCSF), as it makes it a lot easier to get around the city (all the way west to Ocean Beach and east to downtown/Union Square/BART stations). Cole Valley and the Inner Sunset are nice areas and are perfect if you want to walk to UC, but they are a little pricey. For the most part there aren't any really bad areas (ie no Compton-like areas). If you are bringing a car beware of the necessity of parking permits in most areas of the city. Definitely check out craigslist.org as others have mentioned. Good luck!

I got room but I would be the mother all bad influences...but I think I spotted some UCSFers at Nocnoc sometime last week, any of you there?
